Chapter 1 (continued)

      "Do you know what my dream was about?", I asked her she looked at me.
      " Meow?", Bitsy said in a question-like voice. She stared at me for about a minute, then started grooming herself again.
      I sighed and lay back down on my bed. My head hit the pillow and I felt something hard under it.
 what the hell? I thought. I lifted the pillow to find  a strange rock with unworldly symbols on it.
     "Meow?", said my cat in her question voice again. She walked over to the rock. She looked intently at it, like she was reading it. I laugh a short laugh at the ridiculous thought.
     Bitsy looked up at me clearly disturbed by my laugh. I stopped and she continued to read the stone. She put her paw on the rock it glowed violet. She stood calmly staring at the rock. It suddenly exploded into a cloud of powder.
      She stepped away as if nothing had happened. She looked at me and meowed. She jumped off my bed and ran out of the room. I got up and followed her. She ran to the back door. I grabbed a flashlight and opened the door for her. She took off. I ran after her. "Bitsy!", I called to her as I ran.
